“This is a very early result, but I wanted to capture it right now to kind of immortalize it. So, this is a very new website that I created, and in fact, I’ll show it to you in its current form. I mean, by the time you view this, it might have changed, right? But there it is, the owner’s job, it’s all about the job of being an owner. I mean, it is a job after all, arguably the best job. And at this time, as I record this, there are 203 posts published, but what I wanted to show you is this early result. Now it is being promoted on Facebook. It’s a different video. I’ll set that aside for now, but this is the actual traffic and usually it’s all organic social, right? Which makes sense. It’s maybe three weeks old. I can’t remember exactly, but it’s close to that. Actually, we can figure it out. Let’s ask Analytics, let’s say the last 90 days and let’s see what it says. Well, okay, so it looks like May 15, and it’s currently June 9. Okay. So it’s not quite a month old. And you see I did something and then I turned stuff off because I was rebuilding it, and then I turned it back on again, and that’s where it’s at right now. Okay, great.
Well, but here’s something else I wanted to show you, which is kind of intriguing. It is connected to Google Analytics and Google Search Console. I’m not even sure I put the Facebook pixel on it yet. I’ll have to check that. But here’s the data that comes from Search Console. And so “affiliate marketing for small business.” Well, that’s not really exactly on topic for this because it’s not really about affiliate marketing, it’s really about any small business ownership. And sure, affiliate marketing is included, but it’s not really the primary thrust. And “cloud computing solutions for small business” also, it’s kind of interesting that that occurs there, because that’s not, I mean, the technical stuff is not actually a topic for this blog, but okay, fine, whatever.
But let’s dive into this, I thought was interesting. So I got 53 impressions in search. Well, impressions is not traffic as you know, and when you dig into the numbers, sure enough, I did not get any clicks, but on the other hand, I was at the average position of 89, and that got 53 impressions. So it just gives you kind of a perspective. Imagine what, you know, like page one is like, right? I mean if position 89, so what, page 10? If page 10 got 53 impressions, just imagine what page one gets. And so if you’re thinking that search is dead, I’m going to call BS on that because it looks like people are even going to page 10 in search of whatever it was, “affiliate marketing for small business.” So anyway, just a quick hit on a very early result on one of the websites I’m putting together. Part of a training from the Trenches series.”
