content plan part2

“Corrected Transcript:

Okay, so the very first part of building a content plan is to be clear about your target audience, clear about who you’re talking to. Who do you want to attract? Who are your prospects? The best prospects. And it’s not okay to just say, “Well, everybody, everybody will buy my stuff, is my prospect.” That’s not very useful. If you do that, you stand for nothing. Instead, what we want to do is pick a niche. We don’t want to niche too far down, like underwater basket weaving for one-legged blind people—I made that up, sorry. But we also don’t want it to be too broad, like everybody living in North America; that’s a little too broad. So we have to find that happy medium, and that’s an art. You can get it wrong and still survive to fight another day.

Now, to start with, we’re going to have to come up with some idea of a market. I’m going to do self-development just because it’s a fun field. The first thing I’m going to do, just to keep myself sane and remember what I’m doing, is to rename the persona to self-development. So I’m going to come in here and edit—oops, I’m sorry, I went to the wrong place there. I missed properties. I’m going to change the name from my new business to self-development. Now, that’s too broad by itself. That’s way too big. You’ll also notice while I’m here, missions—I mean, I can go ahead and delete that if I want to, right? It doesn’t matter. It’s going to get saved anyway, so I’m going to call it self-development. Okay, great. Let’s start with that.

So I’m going to go to Content Agent. Now, right now, just because of the way this works, you have to log in again using your app name, which in my case is 22. Yours will be something else, and I’m going to use the password that I use with my email address. And here we are. There’s only one persona to select because this is a solo version of the app. It only allows one—solo stands for one—and I just renamed it, right? Solo, it’s self-development.

Now I have like four steps here, and there’s going to be four videos. We’re going to do these one at a time, and they’re in order from left to right. So, Avatar, let’s talk about that. This is the part where you have a lot to think about. You have many choices here, and you’re going to want to iterate over it, I’m sure. From market down to country is yours to fill in. When you press the update avatar button, the AI fills this in. After it’s filled in, you can still edit it, add to it, subtract from it, change it, whatever. When you like it, then it’s important to hit the “keep” button, which caches it in your browser before, at some point, you’re going to come back here and hit “save.” And when you hit save, it gets transferred over into ResultFlow, because remember, ResultFlow is kind of the database for Content Agent.

Alright, so let’s talk about these fields one at a time. For the market, I could say self-development, but that’s not specific enough. There are two different problems with that. At the very least, we’d have to say something like “people interested in self-development.” And let’s say I’m going to focus on 100% male, arbitrarily, just because I happen to be male. What ages? Well, you get to choose this. You don’t have to fill this in any particular order. You can go back and forth on this. So I’m going to say 25 to 55 because those are people kind of in the throes of their career.

Now, you don’t have to do it this way. Because it’s AI, it understands free text. So you don’t have to have any particular format. You could say “only men” instead of like 50/50 male/female. You could say things like “both genders,” and it’ll figure that out. I’m going to say “only men,” just because it’s easy to say. And then, people interested in self-development, but what does that mean? You can’t put that in a bread box, as we’d say in NLP. So I’m going to say, in particular, confidence, career, finance, relationships, personal values, work-life balance, and leadership.

Now, what does “goals” mean? There are so many different ways to say this. You could say something like “live a happy and long life,” but that doesn’t give the AI much to go on. You want to have guardrails in place so that you can keep it on topic in general. The problem with AI is not getting it to be too creative; it’s quite the opposite—it’s getting it to stop being so creative that it ends up inventing moon landings or something. So, “grow to be the very best he can be: successful, confident, and happy.”

Negatives are optional. However, there are times where you want to have negatives. For example, one of my longtime clients has a site about homeschooling but specifically non-religious. So, religious, Christian, all of that stuff is in the negatives. And again, these are not single words or short phrases. This is a narrative, and that’s one of the great powers of using natural language processing through a large language model to do this.

Now, let’s talk about country. As a default, I just put EN-US as a hint, but you can do things like EN-GB, EN-CA, or you could just say “English speaking.” You could say “North America.” There’s not exactly right or wrong here, as long as you understand what the AI is going to think about that.

So let’s go ahead and try this “update avatar,” and it’ll take less than a minute, typically. Now, there’s a sort of semi-mandated format as part of the prompting. So our customer avatar targets males between primarily 25 and 55 and likely to be employed or self-employed, with a strong focus on career growth, relationships, and may be married with or without children. Prospects are ambitious, driven, and focused on self-development, personal growth, success, confidence, and happiness in areas like career, finance, relationships, and so on.

They are self-motivated, goal-oriented, and continuously improve themselves. They seek personal fulfillment and satisfaction. However, they’re not interested in spirituality and manifesting behaviors. Prospects are likely to be active internet users who regularly search for self-development resources online. They frequently use social media platforms like LinkedIn for professional networking and YouTube for educational content. They need resources and tools to help them improve their confidence, career growth, and so on. They prefer content that is backed by research, expert opinions, or successful case studies.

Our prospects prefer content in a straightforward, practical manner and devoid of spiritual metaphors or elements. They are more likely to engage with content that is presented in a professional, concise, and easy-to-understand manner. They prefer digital content, like eBooks and online courses, which they can access at their own convenience.

Now, if you don’t like it, you can change it. But I actually like it. I think it works. But you figure it out for yourself how you would do this differently. I’m going to hit “keep” just to make sure I did because I hate it when I don’t. Now, at this point, we’ve completed the first step, and we can go on to the next steps. But in order to keep this from being longer than it already is at 18 minutes, what I’m going to do instead is kind of artificially break it here and then come back, and that will also teach something along the way. So, I already hit “keep,” right? Avatar cached. So I’m going to go back home and hit “save.” It takes me out of that persona. Now what I’m going to do is I’m going to stop this video and come back again, and I’m going to start all the way over from ResultFlow, log into Content Agent again. You don’t have to do that; I’m just doing it as a demonstration.”
